Target Group

Personnel appointed to serve as fire team leaders on offshore installations.

Prerequisites

  • Valid certificate: Offshore Fire Team Member or Offshore Fire Team Member Refresher (verify at reception).

  • Medical screening: Completed on arrival and verified by the instructor.

  • Personal ID: Presented and verified in class.

Objective

Equip participants to manage on-site fire response on offshore installations. By the end of the course, participants will be able to apply on-site management principles to allocate personnel and equipment, and plan, lead, and evaluate fire drills onboard.

Course Content

  • Offshore-specific fire scenarios: hazards, constraints, and control measures

  • On-site command roles and responsibilities

  • Incident management principles: size-up, objectives, strategy, and resource allocation

  • Firefighting tactics and techniques for offshore environments

  • Operational communications: radio procedure, briefings, and reporting

  • Exercise planning: drill design, safety, checklists, and evaluation criteria

  • Practical leadership: command simulations and live-fire team management
