The OPITO-approved Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (BOSIET with CA-EBS) is the mandatory entry-level training for personnel who are required to travel and work offshore in the oil and gas industry. The course provides the basic safety knowledge and emergency response skills for travelling to and from offshore installations by helicopter, including the use of CA-EBS.

The aim of the OPITO BOSIET with CA-EBS course is to introduce delegates to the specific safety issues and regulations relevant to offshore installations, and to equip them with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills required when travelling to and from offshore installations by helicopter and working offshore.

The course provides classroom theory combined with realistic practical exercises in helicopter safety and escape using CA-EBS, sea survival, first aid, fire prevention and firefighting, and self-rescue techniques.

The OPITO-approved BOSIET with CA-EBS certificate is valid for 4 years. The corresponding OPITO-approved refresher is the Further Offshore Emergency Training with CA-EBS (FOET with CA-EBS).
