In the oil and gas, offshore, and heavy industry sectors, lifting operations are performed daily under complex and high-risk conditions. While modern cranes and lifting equipment are highly advanced, incident investigations consistently show that most lifting-related accidents are not caused by equipment failure, but by human factors—particularly poor coordination and communication.
Within this context, the roles of Banksman and Slinger are critical. Although they do not operate the crane directly, they are responsible for ensuring that every lifting activity is conducted safely, correctly, and in full compliance with established procedures.
