IRATA – The Global Gold Standard for Rope Access

IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) is the world’s leading authority on rope access techniques, founded in the United Kingdom in 1988. IRATA sets and maintains rigorous international standards for safety, skills, and competency assessment for technicians working in high-risk environments such as offshore rigs, oil and gas facilities, wind energy sites, industrial plants, high-rise buildings, ports, and many other sectors.

Thanks to its efficiency, flexibility, and exceptional safety record, IRATA-standard rope access is widely applied around the world. It enables technicians to inspect, maintain, repair, or install equipment in hard-to-reach locations while maintaining the highest level of safety.

IRATA qualification levels:

  • Level 1: Entry-level technician working under supervision.

  • Level 2: Intermediate technician capable of advanced maneuvers, rescues, and supervisory support.

  • Level 3: Supervisor responsible for planning, managing, evaluating, and ensuring the safety of the entire rope access team.

IRATA PVD TRAINING

Under the direct guidance of experienced IRATA instructors, learners completed intensive, hands-on practice in:

  • Advanced rope techniques and movement in confined spaces;

  • Emergency rescue drills and real-world risk response;

  • Risk assessment and inspection of rope access equipment to international standards;

  • Teamwork, communication, and safety skills for industrial environments.

At the end of the course, participants passed an assessment graded by an independent IRATA examiner and were awarded international certificates—evidence of their globally recognized technical competence, safety standards, and professional performance.

IRATA PVDTRAINING

In October 2025, PVD Training successfully delivered the IRATA Rope Access Level 2 & 3 course, welcoming numerous technicians currently working in the oil and gas and energy sectors.

With a mission to provide internationally accredited, industry-relevant safety training, PVD Training continues to expand and enhance programs such as IRATA Rope Access, OPITO, GWO, and IWCF—helping build a highly skilled workforce for Vietnam’s oil and gas, industrial, and renewable energy industries and the wider region.
