COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Enable participants to correctly identify, store, and handle chemicals in the workplace.

  • Ensure participants understand and comply with chemical handling regulations and procedures in accordance with legal and safety requirements.

COURSE CONTENTS

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to understand and apply the following:

  • Read, interpret, and use chemical data related to chemicals used in the workplace.

  • Identify chemical hazards, applicable control measures, and incident response procedures.

  • Understand chemical storage requirements, including storage methods, packaging types, classification, and segregation principles.

  • Identify and correctly use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling, storing, and transporting chemicals.

  • Understand regulations and procedures related to chemical handling, including transportation, spill response, decontamination, and disposal.

COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT

  • This course is recommended for all personnel involved in chemical handling activities.

  • Participants will be assessed through theoretical assessments and group practical exercises, using guidance documents and evaluation forms.

  • Client-specific procedures and forms (if applicable) will also be incorporated into the assessment.
