COURSE AIM

To provide participants with the knowledge and skill and confidence to operate a forklift safely reducing the possibility of injury and accidents to personnel and damage to property.

COURSE CONTENT

On completion of this course, participants will be able to demonstrate a competence in the theory of the following:

    • Forklift Operators Responsibilities
    • Forklift accidents
    • Safe Working Loads (SWL)
    • The process of lifting cargo safety
    • Forklift Stability
    • The hazards of working with forklift
    • Calculates load raised enabled
    • The safety requirements
    • Methods for lifting/shifting/moving loads safely.
    • Final test

COMPETENCY

Participants are required to pass an assessment of practical skills and a written or verbal examination of theory.

PRE REQUITSIZE

Participants should have not less than 100 hours of forklift experience prior to attending the one day training program.

Personnel with less than 100 hours should enroll in the three days program.

COURSE DURATION

This course is conducted over one (1) day or three (3) days

METHOD OF TRAINING

Theory followed by a test of theory and assessment.
