
This Product is to refresh and revalidate Travel Safely by Boat Training is for all personnel travelling and transferring by boat to an offshore installation.
What does this Product cover?
This Product is to refresh the safety and emergency response skills of personnel who have previously successfully completed their Travel Safely by Boat (TSbB) Initial Training.
Entry Requirements
Learners must hold a valid OPITO-approved Travel Safely by Boat certificate.
Learners who are in possession of a current BOSIET(with EBS), FOET(with EBS), HUET (with EBS), Tropical BOSIET, Tropical FOET, Tropical HUET, BOSIET (with CA-EBS), HUET (with CA-EBS) or FOET (with CA-EBS) are not required to participate in practical life raft and in-water sea survival exercises.
Medical entry requirements
Training activities contained within this Product may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such activities must be capable of participating fully.
Therefore, OPITO-approved training centres are required, as a minimum, to ensure that prior to participating in practical exercises the learner is declared fit, in that they:
a) Possess a valid, current offshore medical certificate or
b) Possess an operator approved medical certificate or
c) Undergo medical screening by completing an appropriate medical screening form provided by the OPITO-approved Centre.
Product Achievement Requirements
To achieve the Travel Safely by Boat Further Training Standard the learner will need to complete the 1 mandatory unit.

Validity
4 years
The supplementary training programme may be undertaken concurrently or consecutively with the Travel Safely by Boat Initial or Further Training programmes or at any time during the validity period of the current Travel Safely by Boat initial/further certificate.
Note: Some individual companies require re-validation at intervals more frequent than that required by OPITO; in these instances it will be acceptable for training providers to omit or modify the expiry date to avoid confusion. However the validity period will remain as set by OPITO with regard to the central register and the industry as a whole.
Please note: If the expiry date on the learners previous certificate is within 3 months prior of the course enrolment date then the date of the new certificate should correspond with the expiry date of the existing/previous certificate unless stated otherwise by the Duty Holder or Asset Owner or Operator.
