
Course Aim
This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence required to safely enter, work in, and manage confined space operations in hazardous environments.
The program also equips learners with the ability to recognize risks, apply control measures, and support emergency rescue activities, ensuring compliance with safe working practices and industry standards.
Course Content
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to demonstrate competence in both theory and practice, including:
- Define and classify a confined space
- Identify hazards and risks associated with confined space entry
- Understand and apply the Permit to Work (PTW) system for confined spaces
- Recognize roles and responsibilities, including entry supervisor and safety attendant
- Apply lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and isolation controls
- Maintain accurate entry records and logs
- Understand and support confined space rescue procedures
- Demonstrate safe practices when assisting in emergency situations
Competency Assessment
Participants are required to successfully complete:
- Practical assessment of confined space entry and safety procedures
- Written or verbal assessment to confirm theoretical understanding
Prerequisites
- Participants must have completed Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) training
- Must be medically fit to participate in practical training involving confined space activities
