
In lifting operations, the Lifting Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and procedural compliance. Beyond site supervision, the supervisor is responsible for lift planning, risk assessment, and coordinating all lifting activities.
The Lifting Supervisor course is designed to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge in legal, technical, and management aspects, enabling them to perform supervisory roles professionally—especially in oil & gas, industrial, and construction environments.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand legal requirements and international standards related to lifting operations
- Identify roles and responsibilities of all personnel involved in lifting activities
- Develop safe lifting plans (Lifting Plan)
- Conduct risk assessments
- Supervise lifting operations in accordance with procedures and standards
- Identify and control hazards in lifting operations
- Coordinate and manage lifting teams (crane operators, riggers, signalmen)
- Respond to incidents and participate in accident investigations

Entry Requirements
- Practical experience in lifting operations
- Basic understanding of lifting equipment and rigging techniques
- Preference given to participants who have completed Crane Operator or Rigger training
