
COURSE AIM
To provide participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond appropriately to a fire emergency and provide the knowledge for the proper use of emergency equipment and procedures to enhance their survival in a fire emergency.
COURSE CONTENT
On completion, participants will be able to demonstrate competence in the theory and practice of the following:

- The combustion process.
- Fire behaviour.
- Use of portable fire fighting equipment.
- Self rescue techniques.
COMPETENCY
Participants are required to pass an assessment of practical skills and a written or verbal examination of theory.
PRE REQUISITE
Participants must be medically cleared prior to attending this course

This course is conducted over one (1) day
METHOD OF TRAINING
Initial theory sessions to cover fire chemistry and emergency equipment. Practical use of portable fire extinguishers and smoke escape procedures.
