Over three days, from 24 to 26 September 2026, in Vung Tau Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, Petrovietnam Drilling and Well Service Corporation (PV Drilling) held a conference to review its Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, and its Five-Year Plan for 2026–2030, followed by a training program on corporate governance aligned with OECD standards.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Mai The Toan, Chairman of PV Drilling’s Board of Directors, stated that the conference provided an opportunity to review and update the Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, based on the results and changes observed after nearly one year of implementation. In particular, the 2026 Petroleum Law is expected to create new opportunities for oil and gas activities and drilling services, requiring PV Drilling to proactively prepare its resources, capabilities, and investment plans to capitalize on future growth opportunities.
The conference also clarified the roles, responsibilities, and contributions of PV Drilling’s subsidiaries in implementing the 2026–2030 Five-Year Plan, laying the foundation for the Corporation’s effective and sustainable development.
Chairman Mai The Toan emphasized that the comments, perspectives, analyses, and discussions shared during the strategy review would provide valuable input for PV Drilling to further refine and complete its “Strategy to 2030, with a Vision to 2050.

Overall, PV Drilling will continue to maintain and strengthen its capabilities in drilling and well technical services, which remain the Corporation’s core business areas. The Corporation will continue investing in technological improvements and modern equipment to create greater value for customers, expand the provision of drilling and well technical services, further develop specialized services for well operations, and strengthen its presence in international markets.
At the same time, PV Drilling will continue improving labor productivity and competitiveness.
For the 2026–2030 Five-Year Plan, the Corporation and its subsidiaries will make strong efforts to achieve the target of double-digit annual growth. In parallel, PV Drilling will pursue its energy transition strategy and explore opportunities to participate in renewable energy and other industrial sectors.

The conference featured presentations from leaders of PV Drilling’s subsidiaries, including PVD Offshore, PVD Tech, PVD Logging, PVD Well Services, and PVD Baker Hughes, together with open discussions and perspectives from members of the Board of Directors and the Board of Management.

In his closing remarks at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, President & CEO of PV Drilling, called on the Corporation and its subsidiaries to proactively strengthen their competitiveness and accelerate investment to create new drivers of growth in the coming period.
Against the backdrop of intense competition in the international oil and gas drilling market and increasing pressure on profit margins, PV Drilling needs to continue maximizing the effectiveness of its investments while exploring opportunities to expand internationally and bring the services of its subsidiaries to overseas markets in a professional and competitive manner tailored to the characteristics of each market.
The President & CEO also placed particular emphasis on human resource development, including proactive training and recruitment as well as attracting experts and management personnel from both within and outside the Corporation. On this basis, PV Drilling and its subsidiaries are expected to develop comprehensive plans covering investment, human resources, and markets, striving to achieve double-digit growth during 2026–2030 and establishing a solid foundation for the Corporation’s long-term development strategy through 2050.

PV Drilling Conducts OECD-Aligned Corporate Governance Training
Following the Strategy Review Conference, on 25–26 September 2026, PV Drilling conducted a corporate governance training program in Vung Tau, with the objective of moving closer to OECD corporate governance standards.
According to the original article, the program was organized in connection with Resolution No. 79/TW, Resolution No. 29/NQ-CP dated 24 February 2026, and Petrovietnam’s Resolution No. 5432, in support of efforts to improve corporate governance models and apply OECD principles within state-owned enterprises.

The OECD corporate governance training program was designed for members of the Board of Directors, the Board of Management, the Head of the Supervisory Board, heads of the Corporation’s departments and offices, directors of PV Drilling’s subsidiaries, as well as managers involved in corporate governance, internal control, and information technology.
The program consisted of three main components:
- OECD-Aligned Corporate Governance
- Cybersecurity Risk and AI Governance
- Risk Management and Internal Control Systems based on the COSO Framework, including the role of the Board of Directors
Through this training program, PV Drilling aims to provide its leadership and management teams with a comprehensive understanding of OECD-aligned corporate governance practices, thereby strengthening transparency, protecting shareholder rights, enhancing Board accountability, building confidence among investors and the market, and supporting long-term value creation and sustainable development.
